Residential Programs

Friendship House’s Residential Program is a highly structured program for children 8 to 15 who are experiencing serious emotional and behavioral problems and cannot remain at home.  This program offers a safe, nurturing living environment for those children while they participate in Day Partial Hospitalization Program and full-time emotional support education program. The interventions received are designed to improve the child’s well-being while preparing him or her to return home or to a lesser restrictive out of home placement.

Friendship House endorses a program philosophy of collaborative service delivery to children and families based on six core principles established by the PA Children and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP).  The services provided by Friendship House incorporate a child centered, family focused, community based, multi-system, least restrictive/least intrusive and culturally competent approach to residential care.

Other needed services such as education, counseling, medical, dental and mental health services are coordinated by residential case managers and staff and delivered by appropriate community providers and/ or Friendship House.

Residential Care is offered at Friendship House’s Scranton location
